In 2023, Digital Lighthouse produced the celebratory spot dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Quadrifoglio and the 113 years of Alfa Romeo. An ambitious project built around an extraordinary production challenge: fully closing a section of an Italian highway to film a Formula 1 car in action. Behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo F1 car was Guanyu Zhou, driver for the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake. His journey began at the factory in Cassino—where models such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio are produced—and continued along the highway to the Alfa Romeo plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, where the Alfa Romeo Tonale is manufactured.
The film symbolically represents the connection between the brand’s sporting dimension and its industrial soul. The journey of the car crosses key locations of Alfa Romeo production, celebrating not only the brand’s history but also the people who contribute every day to building its future. Founded in 1910, Alfa Romeo is one of the most important legacies in the global automotive industry. Over more than a century, the brand has gone through social and industrial transformations that have shaped modern Italian history, alternating between major sporting successes, commercial achievements, and challenging moments. A unique heritage that continues to live on through new generations of cars and enthusiasts.
In 2025, Digital Lighthouse returned to work with Alfa Romeo on the production of commercials for the new Intensa range—a premium trim applied across the brand’s entire model lineup. The project was developed in collaboration with Twister Film and directed by Luca Curto, with creative direction by Publicis Collective for Stellantis. Digital Lighthouse handled the technical production, contributing to a campaign that celebrates the beauty and refinement of Italian style. The campaign, built around the claim “Passion is in the details,” features the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Alfa Romeo Tonale, and Alfa Romeo Junior in their Intensa versions.
Filming took place across some of Italy’s most evocative locations: the scenic coastal roads of Lucanian Coast near Maratea, the historic heart of Naples—including iconic landmarks such as Piazza del Plebiscito and Castel dell'Ovo—and the Alfa Romeo Style Center in Turin, a city deeply connected to the history of the Italian automotive industry. As director Luca Curto explains: “Everything in this spot speaks of Italian excellence: from the iconic style of Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale, and Junior in the Alfa Romeo Intensa range, to the unique landscapes of the Lucanian coast, all the way to the powerful, timeless beauty of places like Piazza del Plebiscito and Castel dell’Ovo in Naples. Creating this spot was both exciting and challenging. Exciting because telling the story of such prestigious Italian icons is always a responsibility that gives meaning to our work. Challenging because filming in locations such as Lungomare Caracciolo, Castel dell’Ovo, Piazza dei Martiri, and Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples required the effort of a truly great team.”.
In 2025, the collaboration between Digital Lighthouse and Alfa Romeo expanded further with another project developed together with Twister Film: the production of a TV commercial for the Alfa Romeo Tonale featuring brand ambassador Jasmine Paolini. The campaign, titled “Perfect Doubles”, draws a parallel between the worlds of sport and automotive, highlighting the shared values between Alfa Romeo and the Italian tennis player. Determination, ambition, and the desire to represent Italy on the global stage become the central thread of the narrative. Within the story, Tonale becomes the ideal travel companion for Paolini: sporty, bold, and reliable—the perfect partner to face any challenge. Just like in tennis doubles, where chemistry, trust, and complementarity are essential to achieving great results. The commercial celebrates the meeting of two Italian excellences that share the same competitive spirit and the same drive to go beyond limits.
